b'Overtheyears,wehavemademorethan $500,000ingrantstoBE.Amongother things,wehave:(i)convertedand renovatedastorageroomforparent/child therapy,(ii)addedonaroomforintake therapy,(iii)purchasednumerous computersandiPads,(iv)replacedair conditioners,(v)boughtChanukahgifts, (vi)fundedAnxietyTherapyPrograms, (vii) bought miscellaneous gardening tools, (viii) paid for repairs, (ix) had a special app written that permits real-time entries that create a profileforeachstudent,trackbehavioralandacademicprogress,thatkeepstrackofeach childs progress, (x) paid for regular andanimal assisted therapy, (xi) paid for tutoring (the kidscometoBEbrokenanditshowsintheirschoolwork),(xii)boughtcamerasfora photography program, (xiii) paid for a family therapy program (remember most of these kids have parents who had their children taken away from them by the court), (xiv) paid for a marketing video to help them raise additional money, (xv) made a matching grant for an animal assisted therapy program (see page 46), (xvi) renovated rec-rooms, and paid for sneakers, birthday presents, outings, (xvii) driving lessons, (xviii) new sound system, (xix) team building and much morehelping Yehuda and his staff give these kids a chance to grow up and be happy. And NOT continue the cycle their families have followed for at least one generation before them. BEs current needs list includes: $3,974 for 2 sets of large washing machines and dryers @ $1,987 per set$4,848 for 15 Bar/Bat Mitzvah kids and 7 staff to have an overnight in Jerusalem celebrating this important landmark in their lives $5,500 for social expense spending @ $275 for 20 graduates either in the IDF or doing National Service $5,540 for 2,000 pairs (approximately 10 pair per year) of socks (yes socks) @ $2.77 per pair$5,817fortherapyafterthearmy,beforegettingmarried,andbeforehaving children for 3 graduates @ $1,939 per graduate (there are 6 but BE already has a designated contribution for the first three) $9,972torenovateeachoneof14bedroomsallofwhichincludeabed,desk, chair, small closet and a shared bathroom$15,512 for one year of orthodontic treatment for 7 children @ $2,216 per child$16,066 replacing cabinets ($3,601) and table and chairs ($12,465) in a 10-year-old dining room$26,320 for camp supplies and day trips during the summer $27,701 for additional tutoring (Needs are much greater) $41,551 for additional therapy (Needs are much greater) The Israeli government gives Yehuda enough money to feed, clothe and give some basics for these kids. It is for YOU to decide what extras (like camp, basketball or tutoring) they get and whether those extras are really extras or the basic needs to give them a chance.22'
