The charity where donors pay no overhead and choose what their dollars will be used for
HOT Stands with the People of ?? Israel ??
On October 7, Hamas launched a massive surprise attack on Israel and drew it into a war, the likes of which have not been experienced by Israel in decades. On the same day, HOT immediately responded by coordinating with its partners on the ground to provide assistance to many Victims of War and Terror. 100% of donors’ gifts go to those in need (with NOTHING taken out for administrative expenses). HOT has been able to act quickly thanks to the support of our donors and our strong partners.

Important Announcement
After 22 years of helpingthe Poor, theHungry,Youth at Risk, TheElderly, those withSpecial Needsand those needingCompassionate CareandVictims of War, Terror and/or Natural Disasters,I am facing certain health issues that do not permit me to giveHOTall the attention that I feel it needs. As a result of that,HOTwill only accept contributionsuntil April 30, 2026,and will then go into a “Spend Down Mode” which we expect will be completed prior toJune 30, 2026.
During HOT’s 22 years, all of its expenses have been paid by a single donor, allowing 100% of all other donations to go directly to helping our beneficiaries. Our donors have contributed over $30 million in cash and securities, and have given HOT millions of dollars in tangible goods that we used to help victims of hurricanes and other natural disasters.
In our year ended on June 30, 2024, which included the first 9 months of the wars with Hamas and Hezbollah, we raised $4,050,000 – or more than 3 times what had previously been our normal year, and with virtually no fundraising we received gifts of $1,840,000 in our year that just ended on June 30, 2025.
While I believe we have succeeded in our mission many times over, we – unfortunately – did not set up a proper succession plan. I will take full responsibility for what has now become a critical mistake. I ignored the fact that no one lives forever or is immune to serious illnesses.
Having chastised myself for not having properly addressed succession, I am proud of all the help we have given to hundreds of thousands of people. The $30,000,000 referred to above is probably equivalent to more than $40,000,000 from virtually any other charity because HOT only made grants to pay the direct expenses of our partners projects.
There is no way to thank YOU enough for letting us become a part of your process in determining where your charitable dollars went. We are still working with many of our partners that you can read about in the Fall 2023/Winter 2024 HOT News and we will be happy to introduce you directly to them or take designated gifts to them through April 30, 2026.
